CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF MUSIC, “FROM IRELAND TO THE WORLD”
On 2012 we are celebrating 35 years of Antoni O’ Breskey’ s Music, the concerts started in March in Bern in the Theatre National and in Zurich in the Volkshause.
After Switzerland and Brasil the celebration in Ireland has a very special meaning: on the 12th of August in the National Concert Hall in Dublin we are celebrating the big contribution Antoni O’ Breskey has given to Irish music and culture.

Antoni O’ Breskey and his Nomadic Piano have been at the fore front of World Music and the culture of ethno fusions for the last 35 year. The fundamental inspiration for his expression has always been and remains the music, song and dance of Ireland. On the 16th in the National Theatre Bern and on 17th of March in Volkshaus Zurich 2012. He celebrates this great 35 year adventure in the company of many of his Irish musical friends. FIUGGI – “Una serata di alto livello artistico e di grandi emozioni quella che ha visto protagonisti i coinvolgenti virtuosismi e le originali melodie del pianista e compositore Antoni O’Breskey, per la prima volta a Fiuggi nel concerto organizzato dall’Associazione culturale Promedia e dalla Fiuggiwebtv, con il patrocinio del Comune della città termale. Inventore di uno stile pianistico unico ed inconfondibile, che coniuga la musica irlandese, il flamenco, il linguaggio classico ed il blues, l’artista italiano, ma irlandese di adozione, ha letteralmente incantato il pubblico del teatro comunale di Fiuggi con i suoi ritmi, frutto di una lunga ricerca musicale, considerata dalla critica l’anticipazione della World Music. La sua musica del mondo, con le sonorità etniche di strumenti come la chitarra flamenco ed i flauti irlandesi, evocate dal suo piano nomade, ha entusiasmato i presenti, ai quali è stato presentato il percorso trentennale dell’artista, con brani tratti dalla sua vasta produzione musicale. Proposta la fiaba musicale “La donna del mare”, che ha avvicinato migliaia di bambini e ragazzi alla musica, ma anche melodie, che sono state eseguite nei più prestigiosi teatri del mondo e sono diventate famose colonne sonore per il cinema, la televisione, il teatro e la danza. “ Questo incontro è un viaggio musicale che ci fa ripercorrere straordinari cammini e incontri di popoli e culture. E’ anche un ponte che collega mondi e sonorità lontane tra loro, ma unite dall’universalità della musica del Nomadic Piano Project.
Dal canto gaelico al gregoriano, dalla musica celtica a J.S Bach, dalla musica indiana a quella araba e al flamenco. L’incontro degli schiavi neri africani con gli schiavi “bianchi” irlandesi e la nascita del Jazz con tutti i suoi paralleli (bluegrass, country, folk) e i suoi derivati (boogie, rock and roll, rock, pop, soul, raggae ecc…).
L’incontro in Sud America delle tre culture: spagnola, africana e indio e la nascita della musica cubana e andina. la misteriosa storia del popolo basco e della cultura celtica che insieme ed intrecciati sono (prima ancora di quella arabo-giudaica e greco-romana) all’origine della nostra cultura e dello nostre radici linguistiche e “sonore”.

Tutto questo viene presentato attraverso l’opera compositiva, artistica ed il percorso musicale di Antoni O’ Breskey, creatore del Nomadic Piano.
La lezione concerto prevede l’esecuzione di brani dal vivo con analisi e riflessioni, ascolto guidato, dibattiti e anche piccoli momenti di creazione collettiva.”

“A semantic and metaphysic musical journey, a mantra. A traveling dream which from beginning to end carries us away through seas of conscience, deserts of soul, marshes of memory and rays of hope. Children, mothers and grandmothers from Salento recite in their language the abandoning and land-remorse of the progress; the Quechua singing repeats and broadens the cry, while ships are sailing from Celtic islands towards unknown lands. An Irish princess finds her Basque love in Gernika and another love is tragically lost in Lu Rusciu De Lu Mare – the murmuring of the sea – in the land of Messapi people, while Turkish and Spanish fight each other in the war of Puglia. The Nomadic Aura always accompanies us in this trip and this adventure, and drives us to look for eternal roots and new identities, remaining over us like an angel pending among the sky, the land… and the music.”
